Lift Gaming now has a Discord Server! Join the discussion!

To join the Lift Gaming Discord-server do the following:

  1. Click https://discord.gg/0bOLiYcKHbePh08I, you'll taken straight to the server, provided you've entered a nickname (if not the case, you'll get that opportunity now)

  2. By default you're muted, so click on the microphone in the lower right corner next to your name. A browser pop-up should appear for you to select your mic.

  3. If things are configured correctly a green circle should appear around your icon if you talk.

  4. The first time you've entered a Discord server with a unique name it'll say "Claim this Name", click it to register your account. To the left of the "Done" button at this page is an arrow pointing to the left. Use this to log out (if you want to change your name). These user settings are available for registered users at the cogwheel to the right of their username (see step 2).

  5. If people are using one of the "Stream Studios", please respect that.

Any Questions or Comments feel free to post below!

Big Thanks to Ludo for setting the server up!

Awesome! I just started using Discord this week with my buddy and we loved it. I've been using it with some developers for a few weeks too, real nice system to build an interactive community.

Its absolutely amazing. Been using it for a month and pushing it hardcore for my stream, and its tons better than Skype, and safe! It's cool to have a group of people to shoot the shit with randomly, and its not clunky like TS or Skype.

This is great thank you! I've started using Discord too. It definitely offers a safer option to Skype.

Yeah I use one for me and my followers to hang out and chat in. It's awesome and low intensity for people with crap Internet :)

Been using this for Vermintide runs, it's pretty great! Would encourage fellow streamers to connect with one another there as a supplement to the forums.

Sorry for being a techn noob, but would someone mind explaining discord's benefits over skype?

I don't believe Discord is P2P like Skype is.. P2P = Peer-to-Peer

For streamers: your IP is harder to obtain
For gamers: lower footprint on computer resources.

Discord masks all IP's has voice and text capabilities along with an in browser option, software option and mobile option all of which play nicely together. They're also adding tons of twitch integration and seem pretty agile in their updates and support. I had an issue where even though my mic was detected the desktop app wouldn't work for me and I had to use the browser option which is too many resources for my computer to be able to stream.

Discord is great

Just found this for some reason! :\

Haha I love Discord. Me and Clarence and C_Cage encouraged The_JT a few days ago.  :KappaHD:
